Thanks to the community: Fundraising event organised by Clive Jones a success!
Huge thank you to all our families who were able to join us for the recent fundraising event organised by Mr Clive Jones:
On Tuesday 23rd January, the local community came together at the Oruna Cuisine in Market Drayton to raise much needed funds for two local charities and good causes. The evening was hosted by Mr Clive Jones and it was a wonderful event with a brilliant atmosphere enjoyed by all.
After a lovely meal and a large raffle, £912 was raised. £456 was donated to Longlands Primary School and Nursery with funds going towards their social farm, and £456 was likewise donated to the Market Drayton Scout Group – making it a fantastic evening for the two good causes.
Clive would like to thank all members of staff at The Oruna Cuisine for their continued support of the local community and their willingness to assist with local fundraising – Digger and the team at the Kings Arms, Bargain Booze, local Freemasons and his family and friends for making this evening a wonderful success.
Pictured is Clive presenting the funds raised to Year 4 Teacher, Mr Cross, along with pupils: Tabitha (Nursery) and pupils Lena and Evie (active members of Longlands after school social farm club).
These pupils do wonderful things within the social farm and are currently looking at purchasing water butts to enable them to recycle water to help around the social farm.
