Headteacher’s Welcome

Welcome to Longlands Primary School and Nursery, where every child matters and everyday counts!

Longlands Primary School and Nursery is part of the Marches Academy Trust. As part of the Trust, we believe in ‘achievement through caring’ by providing our pupils with a nurturing, vibrant and inclusive learning community.

At Longlands, we are committed to providing a high-quality education that challenges and inspires our pupils to achieve their full potential. We foster a culture of curiosity, creativity and collaboration, where every child is valued and respected. We celebrate diversity and inclusion, and follow the EDIB curriculum that promotes equality, diversity, inclusion and belonging for all.

We take a whole-child approach to the personal development of our children. Our wonderful school setting, with an allotment, farm and a variety of animals, enriches our pupils’ learning experiences. We also make the most of our outdoor environment, offering opportunities for outdoor learning in our woodland area, sports and play. Our pupils develop a love of nature and a sense of responsibility for the world around them. We offer a range of clubs during lunchtimes and after school which help to encourage children’s individual talents and interests. We also nurture and support children’s wellbeing through our calm environment, regulation spaces and Meadow and Orchard learning support provision.

We believe that a strong partnership between home and school is essential for our pupils’ success and wellbeing and have strong links with our wider community.

We offer wraparound care from 8:00am in our breakfast club till 6:00pm in our ‘Kids Quest’ after school club.
