Meet our fabulous team! Mrs Hounsell is one of our Year 2 Class Teachers, Key Stage 1 Lead as well as our Reading and PE Coordinator:

“I have been in education for 16 years and have been part of our Longlands family since 2010. Reading is a passion of mine as I strongly believe it is at the root of learning and all other foundations can be built upon this. I am also a very active person, so school sport is close to my heart. Success can be achieved not just through attainment in core subjects such as reading, writing and maths but also by becoming a gifted and talented sports person. At Longlands, healthy and active lifestyles have always featured high on our school priorities and the offer to our pupils is varied and vast. Longlands is a very special place and I wouldn’t want to work anywhere else. I am proud to be part of such a dedicated team and know that our pupils are at the forefront of our minds 365 days a year. When I’m not working, I like to go to weekly Zumba and Clubbercise dance classes. I also enjoy walking in the Shropshire countryside with family and friends at the weekends and I play squash and badminton with my husband each week. Cuddles with Belle the cat help me to relax at home after all the marking is done! 😊”
