Quality Mark Award – Officially the first school in Shropshire to receive!
The assessment panel has considered our application, together with the feedback from the validation, and afPE is delighted to award our school the Quality Mark with Distinction for ‘demonstrating outstanding commitment to improvement in Physical Education, School Sport and Physical Activity’.
Your award is valid for three years, commencing June 2024.
The validator has highlighted the following reasons for the award:
The school clearly values and prioritises the opportunities for pupils to take part in a wider range of PE, school sport and physical activity and have been developing their provision over a number of years.
The school is unique in the number of facilities and outdoor areas it has to engage pupils across all age ranges and with different activity interests. They also have a wider impact across the multi academy trust in which they are a part of.
Pupils, staff and the wider community speak really positively about the school and the opportunities on offer and there is excellent community involvement
Your validator has identified the following additional areas for development:
To continue to review the PE curriculum as a whole and the quality PE lessons and feed this into transitional information
On behalf of the Association, I would like to offer you our congratulations.
