Headteacher’s Welcome
Welcome to Longlands Primary School and Nursery, where every child matters and everyday counts!
Welcome to Longlands Primary School and Nursery. I am delighted to lead this vibrant and nurturing school community, where every child is valued, supported, and inspired to achieve their very best.
As Headteacher, I am deeply committed to ensuring that each and every child thrives, academically, socially, and emotionally. As a parent myself, I understand how important it is to get it right the first time. Choosing the right school is one of the most significant decisions a family can make, and I am passionate about making Longlands a place where children feel safe, happy, and excited to learn.
I also have a personal connection to Longlands, having once walked its corridors as a pupil. Seeing the school through the eyes of a child has given me a deep appreciation for the importance of connection and belonging—values that continues to shape my leadership today.
Longlands Primary School and Nursery is proud to be part of the Marches Academy Trust, a family of schools united by the belief in “achievement through caring.” This ethos is at the heart of everything we do. We provide a nurturing, inclusive, and stimulating learning community where children are encouraged to explore, question, and grow.
At Longlands, we take a whole-child approach to education, focusing not only on academic success but also on personal development and wellbeing. Our unique school setting with its allotment, farm, and variety of animals offers rich, hands-on learning experiences that foster a love of nature and a sense of responsibility for the world around us. Our woodland area, outdoor learning spaces, and active play opportunities further enhance our children’s connection to the environment and support their physical and emotional wellbeing. Our annual “L-Factor” talent show, celebrates creativity and confidence. Every experience contributes to helping our children reach their end-of-year goals and become well-rounded individuals.
At the heart of our school is a great team of dedicated and knowledgeable staff who go above and beyond to create a warm, inclusive, and inspiring learning environment. Their passion and expertise make Longlands a truly special place for children to grow and succeed.
We offer wraparound care from 8:00am in our breakfast club till 6:00pm in our ‘Kids Quest’ after school club.
